A novel “spectral‐ratio model fitting” to resolve complicated X‐ray spectral variations in active galactic nuclei

چکیده

Contemporary radiation-magnetohydrodynamic simulation of the AGNs predicts presence hot and strong accretion disk wind, which gets unstable far from central region turns into gas clumps. These inner-wind outer clumps may be actually observed as ultrafast outflows (UFOs) clumpy absorbers, respectively. We call this picture "hot inner wind model". Observationally, it is challenging to place constraints on origin UFOs absorbers due complicated spectral variations. developed a novel method, "spectral-ratio model fitting", resolve parameter degeneracy other components. In parameters absorber in line sight are estimated ratio partially absorbed spectrum non-absorbed one. applied method narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy IRAS 13224-3809 by XMM-Newton 2016 for 1.5 Ms, where source showed extreme variability complex absorption features. As result, we found that soft variation mostly explained change covering fraction mildly-ionized these outflowing with such high velocity comparable UFO (~ 0.2-0.3 c). This result implies formation shares same origin, supporting

A spectral study of gamma-ray emitting active galactic nuclei

In this paper we present a statistical analysis of the γ-ray spectra of flat-spectrum radio quasars (FSRQ) compared to those of BL Lacs. The average spectra and possible systematic deviations from power-law behaviour are investigated by summing up the intensity and the power-law fit statistic for both classes of objects. We also compare the time-averaged spectrum to that at the time of γ-ray out...

The Spectral Energy Distributions of Low-Luminosity Active Galactic Nuclei

As a step toward elucidating the physical conditions in nearby active galaxies, this paper presents spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of a sample of seven low-luminosity active galactic nuclei (AGNs). SEDs for four objects are presented for the first time (NGC 4261, NGC 4579, NGC 6251, and M84); the data for the remaining three (M81, M87, and NGC 4594) have been substantially updated compare...

Obscured Active Galactic Nuclei

The properties of the absorption in type 2, narrow line AGNs are reviewed by focusing on the X-ray indicators. I discuss the properties of the cold absorbing medium (the putative torus) and of the reprocessed components, as well as their implications for the unified model. The relation between optical classification and X-ray absorption is examined. The case of “fossil” AGNs, whose type 2 class...

Naked active galactic nuclei

In this paper we report the discovery of a new class of active galactic nucleus in which although the nucleus is viewed directly, no broad emission lines are present. The results are based on a survey for AGN in which a sample of about 800 quasars and emission line galaxies were monitored yearly for 25 years. Among the emission line galaxies was the expected population of Seyfert 2 galaxies wit...

Fuelling Active Galactic Nuclei

We suggest that most nearby active galactic nuclei are fed by a series of small– scale, randomly–oriented accretion events. Outside a certain radius these events promote rapid star formation, while within it they fuel the supermassive black hole. We show that the events have a characteristic time evolution. This picture agrees with several observational facts. The expected luminosity function i...
